own1221
Hey i'm going to buy a new computer early next year (2009), and its probably going to be a Dell, since I trust their stuff more than others...anyways I'm looking at a Vostro 420 model: Quad Core Q9300 3gb DDR2 SDRAM 500GB SATA 256 ATI RADEON HD 3650XT 24" wide screen was $1,599 NZD on their August 2008 catalogue (I'm in New Zealand) I'm wondering if anyone knows when Octa Core or something similar will come out into the mainstream market, which will make such quad core pcs cheaper? Lester_Masterson
Read up on the i7 processors and MB's. 4 Cores + 4 Hyperthreaded for about the same price as a Q6700 ($380 CDN), but with the processing strength of a X6700 ($1300 CDN) Motherboards are a bit pricey, but will come down...if you are patient. own1221
How should RAM and cpu power be balanced? - the computer will be used for PS, 3ds max, Revit/Archicad. Also anyone know if this recession will drive down prices, because currently I've seen computer prices rise instead of fall?
