mak1234us
thax a ton..but the proble is i want to give a time gap between the motion of the two bodies...but even if i pick the cloned path they both start moving at same time
ihabkal
you just need to move the keyframes of the second object, if you select it you will see them at the bottom as two red rectangles in the track bar, one at 0 and the other at the end of the bar, move them to the right the amont of time you need the animation to be delayed. amer abidi
no need to clone the path, just the object. When you clone an abject already assigned to a path constraint using the shift key, it clones the object restrained to that path, so holding down the shift key you can choose exactly where you want your clone to lie along the path, and so when you play your animation afterwards both objects start from their respective location along the path. Simple tutorial to guide you through: 1- create a path (spline) 2- create a sphere 3- from the motion panel, click position and the small "assign controller" button on top and pick path constraint from the drop down menu. 4- from the new path constraint window, click on "pick path" and select your spline. The sphere is now assigned ot the path and you can test it by playing back the animation. 5- to duplicate another clone of your sphere, pick it and shift-drag it. yuo will notice it is constraint to the spline. drag to desired location and select "copy" from the clone options playing back your animation now will show you two spheres moving along the same path at different locations. This is one way of doing it. Other wise, you always have the "% along Path" option wich you can set a percentage along which you would like your object constraint to your path. (eg. 50% starts off halfway along) hope this answers your query.

Just follow the earlier steps i mentioned and then untick "loop" in the path parameters rollout options.
