djohnson129
Hello, Here's the latest render of a scene I'm working on. A problem I am having now is the curtains; as you can see, on the left side of the curtains is a black and distorted looking thing... I dont know what else to call it. I've encountered this before on other curtain-like objects... and have never found a cause behind it. Does anybody know what's going on? -Thank you
Tommy L
Nice render. I think it must be a modeling error, unless your using a precalculated lighting solution and youve changed the curtain geometry. Ive never really had any problems specific to curtains. Are you using a cloth modifier or something? Maybe it doesnt have self-collision turned on? You could try a shell modifier, see if that cleans it up. djohnson129
Thanks. I did use the cloth modifier. I just did a render showing the curtain before the cloth modifier takes place (its an animation, the previous render was when the cloth was fully in effect) and the black issue isnt there; so it must be a modelling problem that occurs once the cloth wrinkling happens, but self collision was turned on so I'm not sure. I dont see anything funky overlapping going on. I'll try shell and see if it helps.
