hoh
Hi guys, I need some help with unwrap-ing. Is it possible to unwrap two different models that are not connected on the same plane (in Edit UVWs) that I can have one texture map for both of them? I can unwrap them but Max always open new Edit UVWs window and than I get two render templates. I hope that you understand what I mean. If I do, the answer is "yes." > I can unwrap them but Max always open new Edit UVWs window and > than I get two render templates. Me too. I had to combine the render templates manually in Photoshop. Then in the edit uvw dialog I just specified the material and the bitmap came up. The unwrapping was too big as it didn't know it had to share so select all and scale down. Only get to see one set of mesh at a time, but that oughtn't be an issue. Probably best to scale down first before rendering templates. If you are trying for very careful packing and efficient use of pixels it may take a little trial and error to get them packed in perfectly. Here's an idea, let me see if it works... Yup, worked a charm. Attached the two objects together (see attached black template) and unwrapped them. Now there's a template that can be used on the separate objects. I am having trouble getting the single cube object to unwrap MY way, but I don't understand how seams and stuff work so there's no surprise there.
