What Type of Printer do you use?

Not sure if this is relevant to the printer issue but it does speak to the color management mentioned at the top of the thread. I have found the following site to be very helpful. Especially the forum. These guys seem to be quite expert in their field and are very generous with providing advice etc.

Printer Type: INKJET POSTER PRINTER (A1)

Do you use a RIP: No - not necessary really.

 

I think the best investment we have made is an A1 poster printer, it allows us to control the quality of the final product. We print on 270g Photo paper which is damn expensive, but the result is very impressive. This model supports cheaper paper as well, so we can also plot prints in colour/b&w - also a nice value-add to clients.

 

So often you can create an amazing image and the client skimps out on a few bucks and has it printed at the local printshop on crappy paper.

 

For general office usage we have several HP lazerjets and a decent Epson A4 Lazer (the one that has seperate cartridges) for client proofs.
