mtutaj
what is the most benificial way of creating drapes? with the posibility of haveing to change the density of it.. ex. I have a 39' run to do for this presentation.. I had messed around with reactor in R4, but not since then, and am just moving forward to using max full time for renderings (former autocad/lightscape junkie) I've taken in a lot of info the last couple of weeks working on my first couple of projects in max, and am learning from my own mistakes. Just would like some direction on this one.. Thanks, Mike
Ted Boardman
>>with the posibility of haveing to change the density of it.. ex. I have a 39' run to do for this presentation.. Mike, For flexibility in editing I use: Create a Line as the top edge and a line as the bottom edge. Create another Line as the height. Apply Normalize Spline modifier and Noise modifier to top and bottom edge lines. Loft the Lines along the height Line, one at 0 percent the other at 100 percent. You can now adjust the Normalize Spline and Noise to get the amount of "ripple" you need at the top and bottom. You can apply an Xform to the lines to scale them longer. You can edit the length of the height line to adjust the height. You can change the Shape and Path Steps of the loft object to adjust the density of faces. Very flexible and efficient.
