danb4026
I got Vue 7 xstream and created this scene to experiment with it within Max. I am a Vray user, but I used Mental Ray because of it's compatibiltiy with Vue. I do not have a Vue atmosphere in the scene yet but a MR Physical Sky with a Daylight system. The plants and mountains are all from Vue within Max. No post work yet, just out of MR. Thoughts? C&C? jameson101
Hey there, I have never used Vue before so my comments are limited. The overall image looks blurred my eye doesn't know where to look. The plants don't look to bad but would be able to say more on a higher resolution or higher settings.
danb4026
Thanks for the critique. I just updated the image by adding an atmosphere from Vue and some post work. The image looks cartoonish to me, and I don't know what to do to fix it. I used lighting from within Vue rather than a daylight system from within max. It does not have the shadow controls (or at least I haven't figured them out yet) so the shadows appear much too dark in places. Although the vegitation, terrain and sky are very easy to create in Vue (from within max), I am not happy with the quality yet. Not sure I am willing to put in the time and effort to continue messing around with Vue xStream. Regardess, any suggestions to make the image less cartoonish? jameson101
Well it does look alot better. The image is way more clearer and I can see what you mean about it being cartoonish. The clouds look wierd I dont like them at all. I guess if you have the time to get used the controls within VUE and just try and try again or Render and Render again. I have found onyx trees for Max is a great plugin, lots of options and looks great. Just a thought if you are looking for a foliage plugin. Have a great day
