O.D.S
Hello everyone I'm new to cgarchitect This is a new room i started about a week ago. I modelled everything in 3ds Max and rendered in Vray. Hope to get plenty of helpful C&C The 1st image is the usual daylight lit scene. The 2nd image is my first ever sunset lit image. Ive just recently finished school so im still in a learning mood. Also i added these images as attachments, is there a better way to do it (i cant use links until my 12th post :-/

Ky Lane
Cool. I did a CertII in interactive arts at QANTM. It got me into my Masters Degree in Digital Design at Griffith. Many eons ago, of course.
jameson101
Looks great, why is the fish tank(i presume it is a fish tank by the window) only in the 2nd image? Also where in the landscape/sky out of the window?
shaneis
From there i studied at Qantm. Cool. I did a CertII in interactive arts at QANTM. Well that makes three of us - Dip. Screen (3D Animation) via QANTM/ CGC (Sydney). The owner of CGC bought QANTM and merged them towards the end of my studies. Is Bryn still running QANTM in Brisbane? There is a fish tank (and other small modifications) in the second image because its a later scene. Also their is no background/sky because its a work in progress. shaneis
Didn't they also buy SAE and turned it into QANTM? No, the guy that owns SAE bought CGC, then QANTM. Now he owns all the best private colleges for Audio Engineering, Digital Film Making, and Electronic Music Production down the east coast and probably Australia-wide... they advertise as the biggest digital entertainment training group worldwide - over 50 separate colleges! Needless to say, Diplomas go for at least $10,000, so he's not short of a squillion! Who is he? Tom Misner. Sheesh, he even has a biography! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAE_Institute Edited January 15, 2009 by shaneis
O.D.S
Done a bit more of this room. Its my first ever composited image (generally i like to work only in Max...and use those results) Constructive criticisms...?
Crazy Homeless Guy
Two quick things... 1)You need to work on the way your image is framed. It is very important. Look up a few rules of photography to get yourself started. 2) All work will need post processing. All work. Don't consider it a cheat, it is the norm. jameson101
Hey there, I agree with crazy homeless guy, post work is extremely important, its like a photographer taking photos but not using a dark room too edit the images. About your render, just a couple things that I find distracting. the glowing sphere on the lamp shape, not having it will help. Your background image doesn't fit with your scene, the clouds are just way too dark and then the orange/red is harsh. I also suggest putting a large framed painting on the wall by the fishtank, it might help fill up the scene. Hope to see more
O.D.S
Thanks for the points guys. Some of the mistakes came from laziness and getting over the scene. I agree with your comments and will employ some of your suggestions to improve my next image.
