Noise
I will have 3 render jobs lined up in BB when I leave to go home at night. When I come in the next day 2 of the jobs are done but the last one isn't. Not much unusual here except that, half of my render servers are sitting IDLE when they should be rendering. Why is this that some of the machines will become idle and with no obvious way to get them going again without restarting all the machines ? BrianKitts
are you saying the third job never starts? with BB, each server can only handle one job at a time, so if the queue runs out of jobs the idle servers just wait for a new job, they aren't able to contribute to the one still running. Crazy Homeless Guy
I have had this problem, but I can't remember the exact solution. I think someone might have been trying to distribute render to the machine that BackBurner Manager was running on. The current version of MR has a glitch that hogs all local resources of the machine it is rendering on. Because it was hogging all resources, that left no resources for the Manager to properly function. Once we figured out and corrected which machine was trying to distribute buckets to the Manager machine the problem went away. That might be a long shot on whether or not the same thing is happening to you, but it nevers hurts to toss it in as a possibility.
