Dave Buckley
Guys I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone on these forums. I am not leaving the 3d World or anything like that i just felt it was neccessary to give credit where credit is due. I was thinking last night, and I realised that I probably wouldn't be where I am now without these forums and the people who frequent them. I feel that of all the forums I visit, this is the one that gives me the appropriate/sensible answers I am looking for. Everyone is so helpful and the information that one can pick up from places like this is invaluable/priceless. Anyway guys i won't ramble on too much but give yourselves a big pat on the back (everyone that is, users and mods) and keep this forum as one of the best architectural CG resources that it is today. I'm sure a lot of people agree. I have learnt a lot more by asking questions on here than I did in my entire 3 year University degree. And i would advise anyone looking forinformation about this industry to sign up straight away. I am currently working for a an Autodesk reseller but due to my technical knowledge gained mostly from this forum, I have been given a promotion and have been asked to start marketing/promoting, controlling/managing and working on actual production jobs, i have also been given freedom to basically start developing a sister company (in the long term) that solely deals with production work and eventually have staff working for me (i prefer to call it working 'with' me). I feel at the age of 22 this is a great opportunity and it is mainly you guys I have to thank for this. Before now, i was just a guy who liked doing CG visuals as a hobby, and in spare time at work. So now i can actually do what i enjoy and get paid for it. Too many times we have been into companies doing software demonstrations to people looking to incorporate visualisation into their workflow, and too many times they are turning round (after watching my presentation) and saying can we not just pay you to do it. Until now we have not been able to do this, but finally, the powers that be have seen this a money making opportunity (in this economy especially) and have accepted a contract with a big company to become an alliance partner and do all of their visualisations for them. I am quite excited hence the big post and big thanks, as I have been looking to go solo for a while but its just not that easy, now i have the chance to do what i've wanted with the financial backing from my bosses, and the client base already built. Thanks guys
Sketchrender
I would be 100% in agreement. I had to learn everything for the net from scratch. I used formz 10 years ago, with only had one line out of the office for a modem, and it was difficult to get on that, as it was only used to connect to Moscow. Then I picked up max, and again all learned from the net and this website mostly. So Thank you all for the advise, and keep it coming,as if you stop trying to learn, your out of the loop. phil

Arnold Sher
i will second that... Even though i am qualified as an interior designer and spend years doing various projects around the world i have to say that for the last five years working for myself with the team of fantastic guys and girls has been the true labor of love... And it is rather amazing that i've never taken a course in anything CG and everything that i know has come from this website and many others that i frequent. Most importantly thank you Jeff and you Rock baby!!!!!!
