Jet
Is there anyone who can help me to understand how to use that dogone shellac material. I have looked at the book, and used the help menu and I cant find anything on how to use it. I want to make some super thick shellacked wood paneled floors, and granite countertops for a project im working on right now, and im struggling on it. I am using good old fashioned max3.1 Jet
kid
A Shellac basically lets you superimpose one material over another. You have a base material underneath and a shellac material over it, then the "Shellac Color Blend" box controls the amount of shellac gets laid over the base material. I'm not sure how this would help in making wood paneled floor or granite countertop materials though.
nisus
Hi jet, Make an ordinary wood/granite material and copy that in the base material. Make a waxxy, glossy material and copy in the shellac slot. Change the value untill you like the outcome. rgds nisus
Peter M. Gruhn
Try making the shellac material black with all the highlights you need. Then turn blend up to 1 or whatever. Seems to be working for me as a starting point.
