upshot
Okay.. I'm an admitted finaltoon addict. Lately I've been trying to get cebas's updated plug-in to work with vray (1.5/max2009) with little luck... The only way I've found to get it to work is to convert the camera to a perspective view and mess with logarithmic exposure control or the vray color mapping or render a second scanline pass and compost it.... Anyone else have a better approach? TIA
Thablanch
I do not know about max 2009, but for sure, a while ago, Vray 1.47 and Max 9 was working quite fine. It was a standard production pipeline for a catalog where I was once working. The setup was simple, vray as renderer, and final toon as effect.. without any problems. So mabee FinalToon changed in the last years, cause I think vray way of woirking renmained the same since 1.45 and up. ** what about the Vray toon plugin, do you really need the lines to be vectorized.... Vray toon is less versatile than FinalToon, but still quite cool
upshot
I figured it out... you have to add a clipping plane to your vray camera! then it works fine. I'm happy as a clam. ;-)
gfriedman
I'm having similar trouble - so clipping plane and that's all? I have been going mad trying every possible option. if you have any other tips on how to get the two to behave, I would totally appreciate it...thanks
