big idea
Hey guys, until now I have used SU to create my models AND create plans and sections of the models (export to cad). I recently purchased Modo in hopes to create some freeform designs. Now, can somebody recommend a way to create sections and/or plans from within Modo OR recommend a workflow/pipeline that would allow me to get plans and sections of my designs created in Modo? I have Modo 302, Cinema 4D r10, Sketchup 7 pro, and Powercadd in my arsenal. Any ideas? Thanks
hahnmj
Aaron - For simple files can always export from Modo to DXF. Both powercadd and sketchup will import DXF files. For more complex scenes I would recommend you spend $20 and buy Accutrans. http://www.micromouse.ca/downloads.html It will translate to most common 3d formats. They have a free trial on the website to see how it works for you. For import into Sketchup for example you would save a LWO in modo, convert the LWO to 3DS in accutrans, import the 3DS into sketchup. Cimema 4D will import LWO files also so you could use it in the same manor as a file format translator. I hope that helps.
