quizzy
Standard MAX radiosity; regathering = on And this is what happens in frames 586 and 587: 587 is darker in the glass of the painting, I've used a standard raytrace material without fresnel effect. Another thing is: when rendering this animation, some frames just stop rendering. And allthough my camera is the only thing that animates, after frame 0 it says that my solution is invalid.... strange..... images:
Wilson Iwazawa
this could be a regathering problem, as it calculate about the camera position...i dont see that regathering is generating the best it can in your image so what about turn it off and set the quality higher and mesh lower? I could save your render time. About the invalid solution i think its a bug of Max because i was rendering an animation (like you, only my camera was animated)and it happened here...you can turn off the "compute advanced lighting when required" on render dialog and let it renders. quizzy
too bad i have to use regathering because of the way I modelled it
Fran
Hi Michiel, If that is the only anomaly, you can try excluding the picture glass from regathering.
nisus
Hi Quizzy, It might not be your point in this post, but why do you paint your walls gray? (Go for white... OR follow the white rabbit... lol) nisus
quizzy
well its all the glass in my scene that is causing this trouble so I've excluded all objects with glass material from regathering. But still there are frames where my render just stops...
quizzy
O, and that excluding is not working either... Must be something in my glass material.. Anyone have a glass material that he/she uses with max's radiosity??
quizzy
I've narrowed the problem down.... The transparenter I make the glass, the darker the glass gets.. Any one have this problem before?
Wilson Iwazawa
Hey quizzy To say the truth i aways used the ClearGlass Material of the Raytrace 2 Lybrary of MAX
quizzy
Its something of a problem when objects are behind a transparent glass object... doesn't matter if there is a raytrace or anything.. just transparency does this "ugly" trick/BUG.. schmoron13
I'm using vray free with max5.1 and I'm getting the same DAMN problem. Here's the same design from two angles, when up close, the glass works fine, but from a certain distance, it just becomes black. :???:
