paj
I have been using Accurender for the last 10 years as an Architectural Visualiser (AutoCAD to model). I'm now looking other rendering software to give a more realistic result, but still using AutoCAD to model. Can anyone suggest an alternative which has a fast learning curve? Thanks. frank1331
I'm not sure if there is anything that has a fast learning curve, but I wouls reccomend 3D Max. You can still do the majority of your modeling in AutoCAD, and then bring the model into Max. I used to use Accurender, and made the switch 8 years ago. I was also looking for more realistic renderings. But because it is a more complex program, there is a bit or a learning curve. Good luck.
ihabkal
Form a quick search on yahoo I found this http://blog.miragestudio7.com/2007/02/autocad-2008-let-there-be-lights-and-materials/ so Mental ray for Autocad, it is a little harder to learn than other renderers, but if you master it then if you move to max, maya or softimage and use it there you would have a good jumpstart. Antisthenes
accurender nXt http://nxt.accurender.com/ it is allot better than the other accurender, flamingo users are envious because flamingo nXt is not avail. Then again Brazil (free currently) and Vray are fast and dominant currently.
paj
Had a look at NXT but still in it's beta testing stage. Can you pull an AutoCAD drawing into Brazil?
Antisthenes
sure
AJLynn
That didn't make sense. Brazil is a renderer, not a full 3D package - you can't go Autocad to Brazil, you would need to go Autocad to Max/Rhino to Brazil.
Antisthenes
i assume he meant Rhinoceros with the currently(not for long) free for commercial use Brazil plugin opening autocad files you might want to use ACISout or a combination of that and DWG to avoid meshing your primitives if you have any as your model nXt for autocad only currently i like how it does the reverse of maxwell and fryrender have you played with Penguin 2 Sr1 that is for acad also? and combined with accurender nxt could make a nice hybrid render. AJLynn
I think that only you would read that and assume he was a Rhino user
Antisthenes
it's McNeels product, if he said Flamingo i would think he meant that. but since he said Brazil and Rhino is where i know that to be and us it, that being the one with, in my opinion, a very easy "fast learning curve" for any acad user... accurender is for revit or autocad, i know
akinlolugboji
Will still stick with Accurender but Artlantis has gentle learning curve. Give it a try.
