Ernest Burden III
Can MAX do an auto-load of external files in an animation? Meaning have a path set for the master object, and then at a set interval load and swap-in another file? The reason I am wondering is for animating people models. You can do a model in Poser and export a walking sequence as models. If you have a 30 frame walk loop it will save out 30 models pre-posed (but not posable in MAX). Poser is another of the (former) Metacreations programs that I bought and upgraded and never really used, there were many others. But every now and then I will dust one of them off and see if there is anything useful it can still do. Thanks in advance
John Dollus
Max cannot do what you want but Poser models import into Max just fine and work well with the standard Max deform tools. You can add Character Studio and get even more functionality albeit at a higher price. Here is a small clip from an animation completed with Max 3.1/Character Studio 2/Poser 4 about a year and a half ago. http://www.cadalyst.com/caddies/aec2002/winners/arena-divx5.avi
abicalho
Yes, it's possible, although will be a lot of work: - If all models have the same # of vertices and the vertices map correctly among them, you can use Morpher to animate between poses (MAX only) - You can animate the visibility track of these objects (use an On-Off Controller) and turn on one object per frame (MAX and VIZ) As I said, it's not easy, but it's do-able.
