Noise
For some reason Max will not let me load a movie as a texture. I have exported the movie as an AVI using the Cinepack by Radius code but still its not happy. Does anyone know a solution to this ? Thanks N
Nils Norgren
There are a few things that might be causing your problem, the first is that Cinepack is an intraframe compression (the decompression needs adjacent frames to make the image), it could be other things. There is one sure-fire solution (which should be used whenever using moving footage as texture). Render the movie out to sequential images and then load as a sequence in MAX, this has the added benefit of being much better for network rendering. If you have multiple machines rendering each has to load the file every time, which can make the whole system unhappy (esp when you have many nodes). If for some reason you want to have a movie, make sure it is lossless or interframe compressed. hope this helps, -Nils
BrianKitts
My guess is you're running 64bit max, which isn't able to run movies as textures any more (dumb I know). Nils image sequence suggestion will work for you in 64bit it's the only solution I've found so far for the problem.
