PDT_Jim
Hello, I am having a problem with the lighting in my scene. I'm using MAX6 and standard free spot lights are the issue. I put one into the scene and it acts normally. In shaded/highlights persp. view, any changes I make to this light are evident on the screen. This is hard to explain, so please bare with me. Now, I've added about 7 more spotlights and some still behave normally while some do not(even though they have the same parameters and settings!) The bad ones show no change(even turned on and off), unless I do a quick render. This is VERY time consuming way to light my scene, and I've looked through the preferences, viewport configs, etc to no avail and I'm about to set this machine on fire. Sorry to rant, but my anger tank is quite full... Pleeease help me if you can. What is causing this. Thank you for reading this plea, Jim Windows 2000Pro Nvidia quadro4 750xgl 1 GB ram Dual athalon tons of hard disk space
Paulcalif
I believe the number of lights supported in the viewports is limited. This is a real time display, and your video card is doing the lighting.
PDT_Jim
Thanks Paul, You're right. To a "T." I ended up calling discreet tech support and spoke with Darvin (Darv) who was very helpful and that is exactly what he said. Thanks for reading, Jim
