graso82
Hello!! I've been trying to setup scene for rendering gold amulet. All golden elements render nice with exception of flat round plane, wich looks like it's painted in yellow. Does anybody have any soultion for it? Scene is made in Rhinoceros 3D and rendered with V-ray. All materials used in scene are V-ray default materials. For better understanding of problem I am attaching picture of scene. Mr-JosE
It is working correctly. The issue you have is one of reflectance and surface features. The round disc is simply a flat object, reflecting the scene around it in a flat manner. No surprises there. You will need to give it something to reflect to make it visually more interesting. Or perhaps change the shape of the disc slightly, chamfer the edges, give it a bump or displacement map. Remember; metals are all about reflections. samfisher
You can apply a noise bump to make your gold look more diffused.... here are the settings: in the bump map slot, apply a noise with 1000,1000,1000 tiling.... go up to the main level, turn the reflection glossiness to about 0.7-0.8 and activate hi-light glossiness and set it to about 0.6 or so.... You will get a diffused gold look, you can apply it to the dragon if u like. Makes it more realistic...
