Dave Buckley
guys, this is off the topic of arch viz i know, but . . . i am modelling a character, and have modelled half of it, i then mirrored that half and now have to halves aligned next to each other down a central seam, now i want to weld all of the vertices together down that central line, so that it is one object again and not two halves for some reason i can't do it and its getting annoying now
nelpiper
Have you tried to attach the second half to the first so that you end up with one full mesh? Just note that in this situation, your mirrored half must be a copy and not an instance. Good luck.
cdgsean
Instead of mirroring the character, add a symmetry modifier. Either set your transform gizmo to align with the central seam, or adjust the mirror line in the symmetry stack. Then tick "Weld Seam". Make sure you don't have any faces along the central seam or they won't weld. Good luck.
daniohayon
You might have one of the halves normals facing inward. Try flipping them. I always check the faces with the move tool on local. Edited January 29, 2009 by daniohayon
