Jeff Mottle
Maybe everyone already knows this, but I thought I'd post something I ran into. This week I upgraded my ASUS Motherboard P5N32 SLI Premium from 2GB to 4GB. As soon as I did this I noticed that random applications would spike to 100% CPU use. As soon as I removed the RAM and put the old RAM back in, the problem went away. I tried several brands of RAM and all caused the same problem. It turns out I had to upgrade the motherboard BIOS to ensure compatibility with the newer RAM. Who knew.
ihabkal
I had a bios problem too: I have a QUad core Extreme cpu 2.66GHZ, I updated the Bios and the motherboard now says the cpu is not supported. Intel changed their supported cpu list for that mobo it only takes dual core now. So updating doesn't work for everyone
