gsscott50@hotmail.com
Hello, I'm new to vista and am having a few teething problems. I'm trying to set-up an exterior scene using an HDRi for lighting and reflections. Usially I would tweak the HDRi files black/white point etc in the file setup window (found in the file browser in XP). I can't find this same settings dialouge window in Vista. Can anyone help? Cheers in advance!
Stephen Thomas
Why not just use the Vray HDRI map instead?
gsscott50@hotmail.com
Hi Stef. I am using the VrayHDRi map but the options box for this does not allow you to tweak the black and white points.
Stephen Thomas
Out of curiosity, what benefits do you find in tweaking the black and white point values? Occasionally I alter the gamma value in the HDRI map settings to give the contrast and saturation a bit of a boost.
gsscott50@hotmail.com
The way I set-up this type of scene is to make a note of what the white point value is and then match the RGB value to the white point. I guess it can be used for fine tuning the tone mapping as well. But I haven't delved that deeply into it.
mhmd19732008
hello do as follow: 1-press 8, choose background, make the map vrayhdri. 2-browse your desired hdri. 3-drag map from background tab to material editor (any slot), choose instance. 4-make the hdri spherical, manipulate orientation as desired. enjoy.....
