CGA page peal

As a resource, this site helps a lot of us learn, and make (more) money - so, for you to happily run it for free (for us) then that's kudos to you Jeff.

Even if the only time I don't take it for granted is when a deadline is looming, and Im too dumb to figure out something simple.

erm.. page peel? i dont have one. is my adblockplus blocking it or something?

Same here. I haven't a clue what you're all talking about.

Jeff, feel free to advertise. Hey, especially if it helps avoid the need to start up The Official CGA Male Escort Service - "Sweet Surrenderers"

The rest of you - if you don't like web ads, rather than complaining, do something about it! Sheesh, complaining about ads on websites is akin to complaining about getting wet while standing in the rain. Both are inevitable, yet avoidable. An umbrella will solve one, while the following will solve the other...

Get Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

Then install either of these add-ons...

NoScript: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722

Adblock Plus: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Think of it like putting one of those "No Advertising Mail" signs on you letter/ mail box, and...

Leave Jeff (and Brittany) alone!!! He's a person!!!

Of course if everyone did this, there would certainly be no CGA or there would be an access fee for the site.

I don't think so, those add-ons are just tools that allow the user to selectively block content. To assume that advertisers will drop their accounts because some users block particular elements is, well, an assumption (let alone the fact the content blocking occurs locally, not on the server). I elect to block a lot of Java scripts, but not banners that I'm interested in seeing. As an example, I've visited both Marlin and BOXX as a direct result of CGA's banners. On occasion, I unblock even more on this site and others for the sole purpose of viewing the advertisements. Here's a capture from my standard browser PagePeel isn't functional because of Firefox's script blocking, not NoScript...
