Neil Woodhouse
Greetings, I'm in the process of improving my marketing showreel DVD. In the past it has been a straight forward load and run DVD. However i'm wanting my clients/prospective clients to be able to access certain areas/themes without having to go through the whole thing. In other words i want something like a commercial DVD with a menu. What software is generally used for this? I have Adobe Premiere but would be willing to purchase another package if this is not the right one. Is After Effects OK for this. Additionally are there any good tutorials for this sort of thing. BrianKitts
Not AfterEffects....If you are looking to stay in the adobe family, you need Adobe Encore.
3rddimension
Hi Neil, We have done a lot of these types of DVD for marketing purposes. The program we use is Adobe Encore. However be waarned that it is not very user friendly - expect a lot of crashing Regards Nick
Dave Buckley
Adobe Encore is the way to go, but you will find that in order to produce a dvd with menu's etc, you may end up using photoshop/after effects/max/encore etc etc, hence the reason adobe have created their production premium suite of products. I made a dvd back in uni and if i remember rightly the title screens (buttons) etc were done in photoshop, then taken to after effects for any animated menu screens and then into encore to be able to author the dvd properly with page links/chapters etc etc. and premiere was used somewhere along the line if i remember rightly

Neil You can also by easy software packages that are more geared towards the home user that will suit your needs. You just might not be able to customize it as much. There's free one's out there.... more you spend more features you'll get. http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Best/dvd-menu-maker.html
