32-Bit to 64-Bit Problem

I have 2 Computers, Q6600, 2G Ram.

1 has Windows xp 32 bit installed and other has Windows Vista ultimate 64 bit installed. Both have max 9 with vray.

Here is problem. I created the scene and done lighting in 32 bit system. Then i copied files into 64 bit system via network and managed all assets of the scene. Now problem is that my lighting was finished and done and all i had to do is to hit render and save animation. When i hit render, it renders the displacement with very low value and all color mapping has been desturbed. I mean, I used exponential color mapping on 32 bit system. Now when i render it on 64 bit system, it renders it as it does with linear color mapping, although all render settings are same and all materials and lights are even same. I just simply opened the copied file which has everything in it set.

It is headache for me. This shows that i have to do lighting again on 64 bit system?

Please! help. I am close to my deadline.

Have you checked your preferences under Gamma/lut tab? 3d max assumes the configurations of the 3dmax copy you´re using, not the file´s. But it usually warns you when opening a file with different gamma settings. About the displacement you probably have different render setups (perhaps you have changed render settings after saving the file)... Don´t know, but it doesn´t seem to be a OS problem. I used 3d max 9 in both Vista Ultimate and XP and the only problem I´ve ever had was with the bakburner because Vista wouldn´t allow it to open MAX.

Hope it helps,

Thiago

Thiago, There is no problem with gamma. I dont use gamma from max. I just test the gamma correction in the test renders and then put that value in color mapping and turn off the max gamma/lut. i copied whole project to 64 bit system but the system renders much bright. However i had vray sun with 0.3 multipliear and i reduced it to 0.05 and now scene is approx close to my original rendering. I ll correct in post production but still this is issue to move project from 32 bit to 64 bit. scene become too bright in 64 bit that it burns all of colors.
