blade911
hey everyone i recently installed autocad 2008 on a computer at my office and when i open any drawing i get a message asking me to either load 'acad.lsp' for the first drawing or all drawings henceforth... no matter what i click i end up having a drawing where the hatch function doesnt work at all. the realtime zooming also slows down considerably. existing drawings with hatch also show up hatchless. i tried reinstalling cad and the same thing occurs. has anyone encountered this problem or is it a virus?? any help to tackle this will be appreciated. thanks, Kripal
neko
well, that sounds like a few entirely separate issues, and i must admit to being more than a little confused by your description of the problem(s). 1.) acad.lsp - you might have it set to reload with every drawing (options/system tab) 2.) slow zoom - could be video card, but could be related to hatching issues (too dense ?) 3.) hatch disappearing - did you make it annotative, by chance ? annotative object display is also dependent on the current annotative scale (are you working with paperspace?) SandmanNinja
http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=93630 http://www.dailyautocad.com/autolisp/loading-autolisp-applications-automatically/ http://www.jtbworld.com/lisp/acad_lsp.htm and http://www.jtbworld.com/lisp/acad_lsp.htm what is in this Acad.lsp, since it may be undefining/redefining your commands. It sounds like a file may be running that will start by installing a copy of Acad.lsp in the current folder, making it the first to be found if Acad searches for it. What lisps or other files are shown as being loaded at either startup or in acad.lsp? You might also take a look at whether any of the other files like acaddoc.lsp, acad2006.lsp, acad2006doc.lsp etc have been amended or replaced. blade911
thanks a lot fot the replies guys. im a noob to the world of lisp so i went through the forums that you mentioned, joel. the problem seems to be that autocad is automatically creating its own acad.lsp file in a folder where i open a particular drawing and seems to omit the root lsp files that it needs to load. pretty much what you said joel. im pretty sure the right files arent being loaded. the zoom is definitely involved in this matter as well, as i could do so seamlessly using an earlier version of autocad. anyway im just on the way to work so i ill try to fix the issue and get back here thanks again Kripal Edited February 8, 2009 by blade911
