jens b.
I'm having this weird (a bug maybe?) problem with 3dsmax (2009) when i want to Render to Texture multiple objects (check All Selected). I can't specify the File Name and Type as seen in the attached image. Is there a workaround to save the baked textures to the JPG format instead of the (standard selected) TGA format? THANKS! quizzy
3dsmax2009/ui/macroscript open the Macro_BakeTexture.mcr in notepad then search for thi line: local defaultFileType = ".tga" -- default bitmap file extension change the tga to jpg and you're set to go. since the jpg has global values you can set (like compression and smoothing) just render out an image as jpg through your normal render, and make sure the values for jpg are set correctly
jens b.
That is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! It's still a bit strange that you can't change image extension directly inside 3dsmax when rendering multi objects though..
