Dave Buckley
i have made a screen capture, about 25mins long, and like an idiot i forgot to change my resolution before i did it. the resolution is 1920x1200 and along with other settings has resulted in a file size of around 160MB file apart from me splitting the file into four smaller segments, or completely redoing it, is there any way of me getting the file size down?? Stephen Thomas
Total video converter is a great piece of software which handles this sort of thing, or converting between formats, very easily. It's fairly inexpensive but very powerful, I use it on animations all the time as the file sizes out of premiere etc. are always huge. http://www.effectmatrix.com/total-video-converter/ Sorry if that sounded like an advert! Dave Buckley
cheers stef, although i fixed it, i'd done it as an avi and i think it was uncompressed. so i imported the same avi back into camtasia's timeline and then exported it as wmv, the file is now 24mb and is hardly noticable on the quality difference (well its good enough for what is required)
JonRashid
As long as you have the appropriate codecs on your machine you could have done that in max's ram player
