acjwalker
I am rendering with VRAY 1.5 sp2 and am trying to render with vray sun and sky, I have a good result but my shadows are very dark, is there a way of lightening the shadows at all. If i was using a direct light i would adjust the shadow density but I cannot see a similar setting in the vray sun. I want to avoid doing it in post. ctk111
Try increasing the orbital scale. I think this will decrease the shadow density.
Nic H
orbital scale? expose with the camera or use colour mapping. if you arent using a physical camera with sun sky then you might as well use a direct light/standarm cam in post you can use the vrayshadow render element as a mask to brighten up the shadows. Hoa Dinh
what colormapping type did you use? you can try reinhard or exponential type, but I think LWF is the best , the shadow is lighter
acjwalker
I use exponential, i might try increasing the gamma
Nic H
no dont increase teh gamma, thats going to make your image looked washed out. try exponential mapping with a physical camera
