Dean_B
Hi there, I'm using Max 5.1 and wondered if it was possible to have volumetric lighting when using radiosity. I've modelled and animated a studio with blinds on the windows and wanted some nice subtle shafts of light shining through. But what happens is that the fog colour just fills the room presumably because its bounceing from surface to surface as radiosity light is supposed to. I'm using a photometric point light as my light source. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Dean
Woody79
volumetics will work, but only with shadow mapped lights. plus you have to get the setting correct.
Dean_B
Thanks Woody I'll give the shadow mapped lights a try and play around with the settings. Dean
Dean_B
OK Woody the light is now shadow mapped and I've played with the settings in the environment rollout and with the actual light preferences but alas still no volumetrics. Could you expand on what settings I should adjust please. Dean
