3D Warrior
Hello everyone! *Since the links to show my work are not allowed to be posted in the post it self, I have put them into my signature.* I guess the time has come to finally introduce myself. I am sure no one knows me here unless there are some people here who come from 3d buzz or some other big 3d websites like that. In reality I am actually a pretty frequent visitor just never post much, I been registered on this forum for almost 3 years... Anyhow just wanted to post little about myself and what I do/did As anyone here naturally I am interested in architecture and just last year graduated with BS in architecture from University at Buffalo. Currently waiting to get accepted into graduate schools. My interest in architecture came from my interest in 3d and computer graphics. My current (not so updated) website is [look in the signature please] it does contain some of the work i have done, but my probably most recent personal projects are here: Interior View [look in the signature please] Exterior View, WIP [look in the signature please] Recently I realized that the aspect of Architecture that intrigues me more then anything is when I get to set up some king of an experiment and seeing what comes of it. One of the projects I completed is called "Concrete Ice" which can be seen here: [look in the signature please] The idea was to test the limitation of ice being used as a very critical structural element holding 1600 lb of concrete in perfect equilibrium Most recent experimental project I have completed is called Light Mapping which can be seen here: [look in the signature please] The main idea behind this experiment was simply a personal disagreement that space is limited and confining, using simple digital media physical space can be changed drastically. If anyone is interested in this kind of Experimental Architectural work check out more videos on our website [look in the signature please] or right on youtube [look in the signature please] We are interested in finding people out there who are simply interested in same kind of stuff we are, and would be interested in participating in some projects/experiments or showing their own work or sharing conceptual idea/believes. Thanks in advance for taking time and reading this post, as well as posting your comments. Peace

Devin Johnston
Mike, what was the point of the light mapping video?
3D Warrior
Mike, what was the point of the light mapping video? As you can see by the name "Experimental Architecture" the work is experimental. So this particular experiment was created to figure out an ability of light mapping a physical space using digital media. I have an entire installation in works and light mapping is a big part of it. The reason I used that particular corner of the room is to test and ability to light map a fair amount details like those tiles and such. The colors them selves or the particular sequence does not contain any conceptual or theoretical value. Was done only to see the possibilities and get an understanding of how it might work. The Camera bounce makes the light map vid look great and holds interest. good work. Thanks for the comment, actually that was done onpurpose so that people will not say "Oh that's just video tracking" or something along those lines. And when I cut the video together it did give more interest to the video. That Light mapping video was pretty cool. How did you do that? As far as exactly how it's done I want to keep that under the blanket for now, until I have everything else developed and ready to go. I will most defiantly post an instructional video describing everything from start to end. Again thank you very much to all of your comments and questions! Always love to hear your input!
