Lighting analysis

Process Radiosity.

Once you're done, open the MAXScript Listener and type:

SceneRadiosity.ShowLightingStatistics()

You can then pick any object and it will tell you the Lighting information on that object.

There's also the Pseudo Color Exposure Control for lighting analysis.

Hope it helps,

Alexander

Yes, I have personally tested it against Lightscape and the results match very closely.

For these tests to be valid, both solutions need to be meshes at the same size, and the solutions should run to a reasonable quality.

If you have reproducible scenes where the results do not match, please send them to my attention and I'll look into it.

Thanks,

Alexander

Thanks!

But MaxScript listener gives me this error message:

SceneRadiosity.ShowLightingStatistics()

-- Unknown property: "ShowLightingStatistics" in

Anyway I found Lighting Analysis tools (same as Viz4). I only have to customize user interface and voilá there it is. Button for Lighting Analysis.

Still I think that Lightscape's analysis tool with grid lookslike more professional than pseudo color analysis or picking points from objects.

Someone haveto write script for Lighting Analysis Grid tool :)

Alexander:

Thanks for the reply. I have been using AGI for lighting analysis lately as the engineering clients are much more comfortable with the results. Reality scares them. Next time I have a more progressive client, I just might take you up on your offer. Thanks again

Hello All,

I'm sure since this thread is old that you've stumbled onto this as I have (in maxscript help), but the txt to put in the listener is actually:

sceneradiosity.radiosity.ShowLightingStatistics()

I'd be curious to hear results...
