leoviale
Hi guys, I'm doing some test renders, with some trees, and I have a problem using opacity materials. Rendering leafs without opacity takes less render time. How is it possible? If i use a complete 3d tree it renders faster than a low poly tree with opacity leafs. Is there any setting or it's just a vray common problem?
Dave Oliver
could there be some other setting in the material other than the opcaity that cases it to take longer? Edited February 20, 2009 by dave5264 um
JonRashid
Doesn't the opacity have to use raytracing?
Nic H
turn off blur and bitmap filtering in the opacity map vray is faster with geometry
leoviale
Yeah, i completely replace my trees, to hi poly models, it's weird to see lower render times with hi poly trees w/o opacity, than a low poly model with opacity leafs... somehow there should be a way to fix that. mikes8500
Hi Nicnic I'm trying to optimize some Opacity Maps, where do you turn off Blur, I just see a spinner that reduces it to .
leoviale
Also changing the filter to none instead of pyramid or whatever is selected, helps allot.
