mzagorski
Anyone able to advise how I should animate a sunlight system between frame 0 and 100.... (2 different times of day) ... What type of controller should I be using? There was an ANIMATE button in Viz 4 that turned red when it was ON.. but this isn't in Max 5.... Thanks Mike
nisus
In the demo is an animate button. I tried the daylight system too, but somehow it didn't work correctly when trying to animate from say 0600am one day to 0600am the next day. The time just didn't seem to animate correctly... after 23 hour 0 should come again... didn't work out the way i wanted it, so I quit using it. rgds nisus
abicalho
Date and time are animated separatelly. Two separate keys show for them, so when animating from 6am to 6am, you'll get funny results if you do not set the date key correctly. Also, daylight does not render at night, so there's little use doing an animation like this. Alexander
proces2
its called the Auto Key (in the same place as the "animate" button used to be).

mzagorski
Alexander, Well.. the situation for rendering from 6am -> 6am might be when doing an animation showing sunrise -> buildings artificial lighting being switched on -> sunset -> sunrise -> atrificial lighting being turned off.... I dont see that Animate button in Max 5... I even tried resetting the UI... but nothing. What I have done is set my scene to have 24 frames (1 for each hour of the day) I plan to set the date and time in frame 1, then set the time to midnight in frame 24... Then, knowing the times of sunrise and sunset, I can render out the frame that will show some light in them. What controller do I need to use for animating TIME for the daylight system?
