Hi all,

this is my first wip post so go easy on me... ;)

It is my attempt at trying to achieve realism using max and vray..

I studied 3D at uni and was always more of a modeling guru than render man but after some time i realized i actually love arch viz sort of work and now trying to get a bit more serious with it.. i have another wip which i will post as soon as i am satisfied with this one.

Thanks for having me at cgarch...

regards,

B

Looks good, I'd also recommend checking your render setting like mentioned above maybe also tweak your color mapping settings.

I like the mood but my eye keeps getting drawn to the empty space on the left. Maybe add a little reflection to the TV glass too.

This is just being picky but the light seems to be coming from the right but the chrome on the couch seems to be getting a lot of light from the left.

Good work for your first interior and I look forward to seeing the update.

Hi guys,

thanks a lot for the comments, i fixed up the right hand side lighting i forgot to put down the intensity of one light and also added blinds to that window too..

this is new HSV exponential render and it has been adaptive subdivision all along.. also re arranged the scene and deleted the wine bottles...

thanks a lot for all your comments.

Looks a lot better IMO.

Just a couple of suggestions;

- TV screens have a more mirrored reflection so maybe up the Reflection glossiness closer or equal to 1.0

- I don't think the gray painting works in the room (personal opinion). I'd pick something with some reds/yellows/whites etc to complement the colors in the room.

I'd set the TV Reflection glossiness to 1.0 for a perfect reflection. I'm in front of a plasma now and the reflection is perfect.

I find picking the right painting very hard since I'm not an interior designer but a few suggestions would be.

I find the best way to decorate a shot (for me anyway) is to get ideas from magazines. Look at the way they layout shots, how they set out the furniture, what colours they use and how they flow. Plus the little extra things they have lying around to make the shot look more real/lived in like books on the coffee table etc....
