Mcubed
Modeling exterior perspective and I can't get the glass of the facades to look right. I've tried the Max glass & Brazil glass. I've tried raytracing and using an alpha channel then saving as a .png. Is there any good tips or tutorials that will give me a clue?
Jennifer
Hi, Do you have a sample that illustrates your problem? Is the interior modeled, or is it only a façade? Do you have enough objects (or an environment map) for the windows to reflect?
Mcubed
WIP rendering w/Brazil in max5 with radiosity and a direct spot (for the sun). Using regular max glass. The falloff is set as the relfection at 100 and difuse at 50. Now I'm not familar with these settings (falloff)on these maps. I don't have the interior modeled by I do have the openings for them. With the backgorund I was just trying to get a reflection from the glass and saved as a .png file so I could remove it. I blurring effect would help also. I know its not the best best background to reflect but I still need to go back to the site and get the right picls. Any advice would be helpful. Cesar R
rendering w/Brazil in max5 with radiosity I hope your 3ds max "advanced lighting" is off - or it should be. (set it to no "ligthing plugin" In the render dialog uncheck use advanced ligthing. now for your glass use a brazil glass, set the diffuse color to black and then set the transparency to dark gray, reflection color; start from black and move to lighter as you need, this should work. not only for brazil but for any engine. Mcubed
Changes to glass made, lighting manipulated alittle more and add to site. Still no thrilled with the glass or the effect of the 'copper' on the top and right.
