Nic H
anyone else had this problem? when you merge in a single material from another file with a vray sun it creates another sun in your file, very small with the same location as the material file cancelling your existing suns values. annoying. sp3 please
Thablanch
Never had that kind of things happen when merging meshes / materials... (one scene only or a general problem ? )

Tim Fairbanks
This is a known issue. Presumably, you're using a Vray Sky in your Environment Map or Vray Environment Override. My theory is this: 1- The Vray Sky is linked to your main light source. 2- The Vray Sky is a basically a procedural bitmap. 3- When merging materials from one scene into another, all the materials from the scene you're acquiring the material need to be "scanned", or inventoried so that they can be merged into your current scene. 4- For the Vray Sky material to be included in the "scan" the light source must be merged so that the material can be acquired. 5- Result = two light sources, potentially with identical names, in exactly the same location, with exaclty the same animation keyframes. Your scene suddenly becomes twice as bright. Delete the "new" light source. TimF
