RevitGary
In scanline I could make a material that would not get illuminated by lights. It would have its own self illuminating map. I have tried this in mr with no luck. Every object I create has a bright side and a shadow side. I dont want a shadow side. Any ideas?
Justin Hunt
how have you set the material up? The A&D shader has self-illumination with the option of either being physically correct or not, to have the SI emit FG samples which will case light. If all else fails a standard material still works jhv
mattclinch
you can turn off an objects visability to FG and GI in the mental ray properties tab - this should make it unaffected by lights, and then make it self illuminated.
Peter M. Gruhn
I seem to be having the right kind of luck with a Mental Ray meterial with color info (gradient, bitmap) for a Surface shader and everything else none.
