jccloutier
i have a digital camera with sensor size of 1/1.63", 11,300,000 pixels, f5.1 to 12.8 (24 to 60mm equiv) and if i try to use the 43.3/diagonal equation the match my max camera it's not even close. any ideas how to calculate this properly? artassoc
Have you adjusted the apeture width in the render scene dialog (common tab, output section)? Also, there is a button next to the FOV in the modifier pannel for the camera, looks like the fov is measured hoizontally by default (you can change it because it's a flyout). Not much but I hope this helps.
AJLynn
WTF is the 43.3/diagonal equation? Your camera's muliplier is 4.7. (Divide the "equivalent" number by the actual number.) That's one of the camera's parameters, I'd look for exactly where it is but I don't have Max on this computer. If you're camera matching a digital point&shoot make sure to correct lens distortion first.

AJLynn
How did you get 2.776? 24/5.1 or 60/12.8 would give you 2.7. What camera model is it anyway?
