resolution size

Hi, Can any one tell me what resolution I should go for a print of 4 feet by 3 feet and in which format I should save the image. I have done it in 3ds max and vray.. This is my 1st work which is going for print.... Its urgent also..Help would be greatly appreciated..

The size of the image depends on the print quality you are going for..

 

If you want 300 Pixels Per Inch, you need 4 ft x 3ft = 48 ins x 36 ins = 14400x10800 Pixels.

 

If you only needed 150 PPI, you would render at 7200x5400 pixels...

 

TGA is a decent file format, but any lossless formats will do the job.
