jhanphillipco
Hi all. This is my first post here in CG (Thread) I am having trouble in lightening up some areas in my render lately using Vray Sun. The only solution that I am working with this is through post process - Making a screen layer on the portion that are dark. But this technique is ok but not that good. I am wondering if there is a way to brighten up these areas through render without putting so much lights. BTW I tried putting some omni lights on the dark areas but it didn't seem to work. I also used a plane to reflect the light coming from the sun but it can only lighten up some areas. Details on attached image.
Stephen Thomas
You can't expect the sun alone to light those areas, you need an environment light as well. Either the vray sky or GI environment override will do. Are you using any of these?
Nic H
there are too many fancy cars in the shot, put in some older more beaten up cars.

I put the value of 1.0 in the intensity but I guess I need a higher value like 10 or something to light up the area. I read some forum on Render Elements by the way and tried it but not in VFB. I just blended the GI and Shadow Elements in Photoshop. Here's and update of what I did. (Thumbnail) Ninic: Yeah, fancy cars. I'm doing this render for the house models to be sold in Kyrgyzstan. I'll try putting some older version cars but not beaten up. I think my senior won't like it.
