isaac_cm
hello, in my polygon I cant connect between two vertices (see pic) - another question: many times I cant even select the vertex but when I apply xform every thing com back to normal !!! why this behavior of max ? is there any workaround ? thanks Note: I use Max 9 sp2
Crazy Homeless Guy
The two vertex's you are showing have a segment between them, and therefore cannot connect. If you place a vertex on the center segment, then you can connect both of the vertex's highlighted to that segment.
isaac_cm
ok but I have questions (I am new) - how you know there is a segment ? and why I cant connect when there is a segment? - I tried to create a vertex but also did not work !! how I create it exactly in the center ? - I tried to use the "cut" tool but I can adjust the position !! Crazy Homeless Guy
My fault, max refers to them as edges. You have an edge between the two vertexes. It is the line that is separating them. I would select the object, go to the edge selection level, select the edge that is between the two vertexes, click the insert vertex button under the edit edges roll out. Then double check if you snap is set to midpoint. If it is, then go ahead and click on the center of the edge that is between the vertexes you want to connect. Now switch back to vertex selection level. Click all three vertexes, and hit connect.

Turn on Snaps and have it set to verts. Your mouse will pull or snap to the first vert, then move it to the 2nd vert. The cut will be a perfect vert-to-vert cut.
