rose Posted February 28, 2009 Share Posted February 28, 2009 Hi Everyone, Thanks a lot for all the posts that u guys gave me.I had imported my cad dwg into 3ds max,but i dont know how to create windows in walls.Could anyone help me regarding this? davetkoch Posted February 28, 2009 Share Posted February 28, 2009 Hi Rose, You can align your CAD drawings as required to each elevation of the model and trace shapes that correspond to your openings. Attach these together as one editable spline per wall/elevation. Select the corresponding wall geometry and make it into a ShapeMerge Compound Object. Select the opening shapes that you drew as the cutting objects. Now you can convert the geometry back to editable polygon and go to poly subobject mode were you will find your openings preselected (as long as they were closed shapes).
