TheAllusionisst
2: Against. If there is a split then the whole process appears to have been a way to eliminate the lower priced Viz and nail you for the more expensive Max Design which is what Viz should have steadily evolved and been all along IMHO. Do I like it? Seems to be a shrewd if not likeable business model that we should all be accustomed to by now. I would hope they either recode the old Max coding as they were suppose to do prior to acquiring Alias or follow through on any plans they may have using all their recent acquistions, why take an old program and branch out and create more programs they will eventually need to abandon when they finally do update the core IMHO I would say if you are going to coast and profit on Max which is still very useable, especially in archvis, that you should keep it simple and make improvements that justify upgrades/maintanence contracts instead of branching out and eventually abandoning a subgroup of your user base. All I am saying is that they are already spread out over how many programs that aren't seeing real innovation, why continue to dillute the products offered, what is the point? Paul Twyman
2. Against. Having two versions just seems insane to me and I really do not like the way that things appear to be heading. I have not yet heard one good reason to justify having different versions but I am willing to hear more if anyone wants to try and change my mind. Elliot
Totally against it. I think the AutoDesk people are fooling us once more. I don't trust them for the maneuvering they have been doing for the last 10 years. No matter what they say now.... with this next move they are confirming what we all suspect. They have forced us to decided without them being honest about their intentions. They want us to trust them on no more than a few very vague explanations. They should have asked us that question after they revealed their new version. For Autodesk: Sorry about being so candid. I genuinely feel this way until you proof different.
