A.Mitov
Hi, I am thinking of getting a new video card. It will be used mainly for working in 3DS Max with heavy scenes. So far I have stopped upon 3: GeForce 9800GTX+ Quadro FX 4400 Radeon 4870/4850 Which of these 3 will perform better in 3ds max? And what's the difference between Radeon 4870 and 4850? AJLynn
The Quadro 4400 is old. Forget about it. Between the others... hell if I know but really, all the ones you've listed here are fine. Video cards these days are so overpowered you don't even need the expensive ones. Get a 9800GT and reserve the extra budget room for beer.
A.Mitov
Thanks for the reply. I have been constantly hearing only good things about the Radeons. Are they really so good in terms of performance? If there is really no big difference between these cards then I think getting the 4850 will be a good decision. What do you guys think? A.Mitov
Hello again. There's a guy who sells a Quadro 4400 second hand for about $ 130. What do you guys think? Is it a good deal? Or should I get the 4870? Which is faster?

My Quaddro 1500 is blinking, every time I load a huge scene and rotate the camera the screen turns black for a second and then comes back, I had some overheating problems in my small case. If you really want it test it before you buy, these cards don't last long if the case isn't cooled well...
