3ds files from archicad to small?

For give my ignorance but when exporting a model from archicad as a 3ds file type and then importing it into archicad, is scale affected.

 

I have imported a small building but the size seems to have shrunk or is it supposed to be small like that. However if this is not the case how can I readjust/maintain the scale so I can use real world lighting in 3DS Max 5. Any tips, web links etc on this would help thanks.
