thomasj
Hey guys, I'm trying to make my rpc's have an opacity to them in 3ds max, mental ray, 2009. I tried the tutorial on the archvision website but it doesn't work for 2009. I tried a bunch of things. Anyone know how to do this? And also my shadows are pretty dark, any way to soften them up. They're completely black. thanks for the help!
Ky Lane
Ive given up on RPC. Their support dicks me around for days with every issue, and usually get sent a JPG with a message "See? We can do it here". No new content since I signed up 6 months ago. Doesnt work well with MR. Only saving grace is the (painfully slow) photoshop plugin. Sorry, not a helpful post - just cranky with them.
Big Bird
To work around this I usually set up a matt shadow scene just for the rpc and render it in scanline. Then comp it over your main pass in photoshop and adjust the rpc layer as best you can.
