danb4026
I built my own site using my web hosting company's "sitebuilder" service. My web hosting is done by my local cable tv/phone/internet service and hosting is part of my monthly cable tv bill and free. http://www.archtagon.com is my business site, which I built. I want a more professional looking site, but since I am a one man operation and just started the business a year ago, I don't have much money to spend. I will continue to have my site hosted by "Optimum.net" (cable company) but want to import a new site. Can anyone recommend either a professional site builder or some other option that would allow me to achieve good results? I have Dreamweaver, but, honeslty, I don't have the time to learn it. EddieLeon
I think Elance.com or Guru.com might be a good, affordable, and safe option. You can choose the lowest bidder or the company that you feel most comfortable with. Good luck.
Crazy Homeless Guy
Instead of building from the ground up the most economical solution would be to use a content management system that is already established. Joomla is highly recommended. This will give you access to hundreds of pre-built widgets that can be installed or uninstalled according to your needs. You may need to hire someone to design the interface for you, but if you look into someone to design a Joomla template for you, with the widgets you want, then you will be able to save a lot of time on programming costs, and troubleshooting. I also recommend those that are thinking about a site, but want something fast, to just look into photo blogging, or photo gallery software. There are a lot of nice clean easy to use solution out there for this, but non I know of are really setup to act as a business front end. But then again, I never looked for one to act as a business front end. You could also simply buy or download a pre-built Joomla template.... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=joomla+1.5+templates&btnG=Google+Search&aq=2&oq=joomla+ Edited March 16, 2009 by Crazy Homeless Guy

danb4026
I went to the Joomla link and there are just tons of sites offering templates and such. I wouldn't know where to begin! Some of the Joomla templates look very nice...and I don't need a business front end, just a site that says something about my business and shows my portfolio in a sophisticated, attractive format. Hazdaz
Geez, I thought the 3D world had wacky abbreviations/tool names... Joomla? Now that's a funny one.
