chadsmith
Ultimately I am trying to make frosted glass effectively. I can add a little self illum. but the objects seen through the glass are still sharp and they should be blurry. Same for the reflections. Adding a bump map just disperses the reflection but not the objects seen through the glass. Even then the bump map does not disperse the reflection softly like frosted glass would. I wanted to know what you guys do for frosted glass so I can stop my abuse of ps.
Craig Ramsay
Try adding thin wall refraction in your materials refraction map slot. Change the refraction amount to about 45, go into the thin wall refraction seting and change the thickness offset to 0, change the blur to about 18ish and re-render.... instant blured glass Craig
kid
If you're just using scanline renderer you could use this script - http://www.jonseagull.com/downloads.shtml#arch_glass

afecelis
@Chadsmith: Could you share your material settings (opacity, self ilum, etc)?
