mesht
get the "nehalem" Xeon macpro, the fastest at the moment, and install Vista 64/XP 64 and you get 16 cores!
ThomasD
if you whant to have great service and very good fast pc`s watch for the boxx pc`s from boxxtech. I use 3ds max, autocad, maya, photoshop, nuke and mutch more. And if your computer is broke, in less then a week, they solve your problem.

aligrafix
i have considered the macpro, but can you guys mention the model of Boxx? which model? but be sure, it should be intel based processor not AMD because we live in hot lands not cold regions. AJLynn
The Boxx site makes it nearly impossible to get the spec sheets (Adam - you guys seriously need to overhaul this!) but it appears that they do not currently list a dual-Nehalem system. AFAIK Apple is the only vendor currently shipping these. Other ought to get caught up pretty quick but I'm not surprised - Apple has been first to market with previous versions of Xeons also and I think was first to market with Core Duo laptops. It seems a bit too consistent to be coincidence so I figure they must have a deal with Intel that lets them do that.
BOXXLABS
Hey Guys, For legal reasons, nobody can announce products based on unreleased intel technology. Not unless they want to be sued, that is. This said, we are quoting (and accepting orders) for our about-to-be-released workstation using "Nehalem"-based dual socket Xeon systems. If anybody here is interested in getting a quote, please contact me directly and I will get you to one of our sales reps who can provide that for you. aglick@boxxtech.com 512-2245-6329
RevitGary
I found out they are making dual i7's now. My question... are dual 2.26 processors going to be twice as fast as a single 2.95 processor for max / mental ray rendering? Is the dual a much better way to go? Thanks to all.
